The New River Valley Beekeepers Association was founded in 1998. The primary goal of the organization is to aid local beekeepers in managing their hives. Monthly meetings are held to provide information and foster relationships.
Visitors and guests are welcome at meetings, held the second Thursday each month, 7:00 p.m., in the Community Room of the Montgomery County Health and Human Services Building, 210 W. BRUSHY MOUNTAIN BEE FARM in Moravian Falls, NC is beautiful, is not far, particularly beautiful in the spring and summer. Last time we were there, they had a row of 8 - 10 different style working bee hives on display. If you wander in the bees' flight path, they just bounce off -- and keep on going. They're busy! Very early in the year (January) you can order bees (for delivery in March/April).
